You’ve got to watch this before you buy!
The iPad Pro 12.9″ is undoubtedly a super product and the best tablet you could buy in 2021. But that should be expected from a company like Apple and the price tag the product comes with. However, the question that’s really important is whether the iPad Pro is worth its money, can it replace a laptop or a computer and is it very powerful?
Is the iPad Pro 12.9 definitely a computer now? Well almost. It’s a lot closer to being a laptop – but it all depends on what you use a laptop for. If you don’t use a laptop for anything too professional or high-end – you can definitely substitute your laptop with the new Apple M1 iPad Pro. It is capable from a power (or performance) point of view, however, the ecosystem that exists in MacOS or Windows is not the same for iPad OS. iPad OS does offer substitutes for most apps, but most times that won’t work for you to maintain continuity.
So if you use very specific apps or software, that’s not built for the iPad OS environment (now or yet) – then it defeats the purpose. For e.g. I use premiere pro and Sketch for a lot of my professional work. Both of these cannot be used on iPad – so, can I substitute my laptop with the iPad Pro? Definitely Not.
It is 100% a spec bump from any of the previous generations iPad and with the M1 chip riding this beast, this is basically a 2-in-1 version of the M1 Macbook Air!
