Downgrade 4.0.2 Firmware to 4.0 / 4.0.1 on iPhone & iPod Touch

Easy way to downgrade the 4.0.2 firmware for the iPhone and iPod Touch back down to any firmware.

Only catch is that you must have saved your SHSH file on the firmware you want to downgrade to. (You probably did this if you were jailbroken on that firmware. If not, you would have saved it with TinyUmbrella software.)

If you have a Mac, use this guide for the first steps of the video:

To get all firmware files- http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/

If your firmware file comes in a .zip, use this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cn5cocKbFj0

The directory: C:WindowsSystem32driversetc

The text needed to be entered-
74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com

How to Run Notepad in administrator to edit the hosts file:
Click on Start, Accessories, right-click on Notepad, and click “Run as Administrator.” Then drag and drop the hosts file into Notepad and proceed.

IF YOU GET ANY ERROR INVOLVING “The iPhone/iPod could not be restored. An error occurred,” THEN DOWNLOAD TINYUMBRELLA AND KICK OUT OF RECOVERY MODE!! (Explained in video)
