Now let’s dive into specifics!

An Apple insider is claiming that the iPhones might be discontinued in the next ten years or so. It has come across like a wave of shock for many Apple fans since they have been the customer’s preference for years. Not only that, the iPhones account for nearly half of Apple’s total revenue, and it is increasing year after year. It is said that only the Mac Computers category that the company founded mounts for about 10% of their profits.

The rest of the wearable and home accessories include the Apple Watch, Apple Airpods, Home Pods, and Apple TV that mount to 10% as well. And then looking at the services Apple provides through them like iCloud, make-up to about 20% or more. Looking at this, it is clear that the Apple iPhone is the most important product of their company. And even if the company is looking to discontinue the series, they will have to come up with something revolutionary enough to replace the existing products.

An Apple insider recently said that the augmented reality AR headset would be coming in 2022. There is a huge possibility that the first-generation AR Headset would require iPhones to get connected to them. And for accessing the internet like the products Apple has the Apple Watch and AirPods. However, over the years, the technology is bound to get advanced and come to a point where there would be no need for iPhones. The production of any product depends on their demand, so if the customers stop looking for the products, Apple might discontinue them.

Yet there has been a drastic change in the sales figures, and there is a current diminishing demand for smartphones. There are rumors Apple might not leap 5G next year. And the company recently made a shocking announcement of not disclosing the unit sales of their ios devices and Mac in their financial reports. Although, it would be foolish for Apple to discontinue the sales of their star products.

Apple got success in 2009 when they introduced the App Store, which is a platform that transformed the iPhone into a genuinely useful pocket gadget. And we all know over the next decade Apple’s sales have been increasing stably. Apple dominates the markets especially if you look at the USA, where the company has a commanding market share of 39%. And its rival Samsung has a market share of 25%.

But over the years, the Apple cachet became so common that its value is slowly slipping away. It gets difficult to stand out in such a high competition market. In the current markets, every phone has a touch screen, notched displays, multiple cameras in the back and front, and possibly everywhere. For example, when we look at the OnePlus 6, the front looks like it costs about $549. And the iPhone XS Max looks quite similar, which costs about $1,199. Every phone in the market mostly looks like a replica of the iPhone X design.
