The NEW Apple M1 MacBook Air is in our office and it’s time to put it through our full suite of benchmarks and thermal throttling tests!

We tested Geekbench 5, Unigine Heaven, Cinebench R23, Photo editing using Lightroom Classic and League of Legends gaming.

Unlike other videos, we figured out a way to view the CPU clockspeed and the GPU wattage as well, so that made the thermal throttle test interesting!

We also tested just how well Rosetta 2 is able to translate a couple of x86 apps.. and you guys will be BLOWN away!

Our next video will be the 2020 Intel MacBook Air vs M1 MacBook Air comparison video, so SUBSCRIBE right now so you don’t miss out!

  1. Y'know, concerning the coolness of the machine, I realize now that I miss the previous laptop's warm wrist contact. Now, the machine is always cold!
    Where are my mittens!!!

  2. I am still not sure if apple is making the two tb3 ports share the same 40Mbs bandwidth or if they are truly fully independent with 40Mbs each.
    Please test that. Thanks

Also can you recommend external ssds since these memory limited internally un upgradeable machines use the fast ssd as a memory swap file, this makes "the external ssd the single most important addidtion you can make to your m1 mac" performance wide, especially since GPUS are not currently supported.

  3. What about the display calibration?

No reviewer is showing that, as a content creator it is a must to calibrate the display

Does the display calibration like spyder 5 pro works accuratly on the new m1 chip macbooks..??

  4. 60 fps in LoL at 1440p… Gaming is still not nearly on par with PCs, a 1k PC will easily get you 150-200 fps. But for playing one round of CS or sth it might be ok.

  5. Geekbench is completely worthless dude. It's a marketing tool. Gear Seekers ran a comparison of the Mac Mini M1 against x86 chips from Intel and AMD, and PC graphics. Hint? It got slaughtered.

Hint, use real benchmarks and not marketing tools like Geekbench.

  6. Macbook air 8 core gpu vs Macbook pro base. 50 dollars difference at the price. worth it the extra many? i saw the fan doesnt make to much of difference at the heating (2- 5 celcius). i need it for every day use, office 365 and games ( no something to aggressive). No photo editing, no video editing. Or the base model Macbook air it will be just fine with 7 core gpu.

  7. Any feedback on using iOS Sidecar with new iMac and how it serves as the touch input to the new systems?
