In this video I test the M1 Max (32-Core CPU) in Minecraft and compare it’s performance against the regular M1. I do this both in Vanilla Minecraft and in Optifine. How well does Minecraft run on an M1 Max Mac?
I don’t just test in an empty world, but I also test in a fully populated world – because I’m a Mac Minecrafter.
I also tested at 3 resolutions: 1080p, 2k/1440, and 4k. All setting were on maximum with a render distance of 12 chunks.
Having played on the M1 Macs with Optifine for over year, I always knew there was some benefit to using Optifine. But I was not prepared for how much of a difference the M1 Max would deliver.
