Apple has rolled out iPadOS 15 as the upgrade to the iPadOS 14 for its iPad users. Like every year, Apple improves its iPadOS and brings various updates and new features. iPad users should cheer about this upgrade as Maps, Safari, Widgets, Multitasking and many other things have become a lot better and more than 100 new changes and features are coming in it. In this video, I will be sharing with you the 5 major changes, updates and features of iPadOS 15 that you should be knowing.
The Do Not Disturb mode has now been updated to be called as the Focus Mode. Apple aims to limit your distractions through this feature and is a great productivity tool. It let’s you prioritize notifications from your contacts, apps based on time and location. Moreover, one can customize the home screen and lock screen depending on the mode selected. One can begin by choosing one of the profiles, i.e., Personal, Work, Driving, Fitness, Gaming and Reading. If you want for a different scenario, you can create one for your own.
Hearing Mode is a very useful and productive tool added to the iPadOS 15. With this mode, you can play background sounds during workout, meditation or use the rain sound effect when driving in the rain. So good right? Moreover, you get the option to add background sounds to any app while using it. One can choose from a variety of sound effects and most likely in coming time Apple will be adding more sounds to it or even add the custom option to add a sound effect.
Live Text feature in camera and photos is possibly the best addition to this year’s update. The on-device intelligence makes it seamless to select text from photos and use that information. When you take a photo using the live mode feature, you can quickly cull out the scanned text, to further look into more information, translate text, share the text with your contacts or save it.
Apple Maps have come a long way and through the new iPadOS 15 upgrade, Apple has made lot of improvements by providing rich details for navigation, immersive walking directions shown in augmented reality, 3D cities and much more. One of major improvements are the beautifully rendered 3D landmarks available in London, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York for now and more cities to come.
The addition of Web Extensions to Safari for iPad was the much awaited feature for a long time. Mac users have been using this feature a long time and have always loved this. Thanks to Apple they have extended this for its iPad users, for who they promise to deliver the same or better experience. Extensions improve your browsing by blocking ads, use websites in dark mode or in any other color, check and autocorrect grammar errors instantly, create a focus and inspiration-based start page to name a few.
