The Apple Studio alternative 5K Display // USBC & HDMI

Disclaimer… DON’T do this… This is potentially dangerous, neither of us are an electrician. DON’T take my safety advice.

WARNING – I’ve been made aware that I should have probably have kept the Mac case grounded, I’m not an electrician, so seriously DON’T take my advice & don’t follow my exact steps. Do your own research and do this at your own risk!

Also not suggesting that this is a pro reference monitor for industry pros by any means. This is for consumers that don’t need industry level colour accuracy. So all you pro colourists in the comments, calm down..

And finally please know that I’m not claiming I was the first to do this, I might be the first English speaking tutorial but all this really is, is me sharing my experience with a little more detail to answer some questions I had and perhaps help answer some questions you might have. Thanks to @Tips, Tricks & More for the idea

Please also note. There are plenty better value of displays out there with more features for the price. This was just the only solution I found that fit MY needs. I’m not saying this will fit YOUR needs

Thanks for watching! Let me know if you have any questions or thoughts

I found the new driver board that natively supports USBC charging!

I also found two solutions for being able to change the monitor brightness with OSX:
