At Fuzz City, we recently upgraded to the Yamaha HS5 Studio Monitors and we couldn’t be happier with them. In today’s video We will be comparing the first two Dream Machine albums that were mixed using small and lousy M Audio monitors, to a clip from Dream Machine “Living The Dream”, our upcoming record, which was mixed using the Yamaha HS5 Monitors. Will these monitors work for your space? It is very likely! Can you just walk into any Guitar Center and grab a pair, currently yes! In addition to reviewing the Yamaha HS5s, I am happy to provide a significant dose of philosophical ranting about exactly why monitors are so important.
