Elon Musk claims that after making many tweets critical of Apple, he met with CEO Tim Cook and “settled the misunderstanding.”

Cook was shown around Apple’s offices by Musk, who thanked him without mentioning what they may have talked about. The meeting takes place just after Musk said on Monday that Apple had “largely ceased” providing Twitter with adverts and had threatened to “withhold Twitter from its App Store.”

Elon Musk & Tim Cook Deal Changes Everything for Tesla and Apple
Elon Musk, the billionaire founder of Tesla, claimed to have met Apple CEO Tim Cook on Wednesday, adding yet another chapter to the two tech giants’ bizarre and fractious week.
Musk tweeted, “Thanks Tim cook for showing me around Apple’s gorgeous HQ,” along with a picture of a foreground pond with two shadow figures standing in it.
Just a few hours later, he sent out another tweet in response.
“Excellent conversation We cleared up the confusion around Twitter possibly being taken off the App Store, among other things. Tim made it plain that Apple had never given it any thought.”
The two conciliatory tweets came at the end of a string of other combative ones from Musk, who repeatedly criticised Apple this week and occasionally singled out Cook over claims that the tech giant had stopped advertising on Twitter, threatened to remove it from its app store, and overcharged businesses. (Fortune asked Apple and Twitter for comments, but neither provided any right away.)
Musk reported on Monday that Apple had stopped running the majority of its Twitter advertisements. According to the Washington Post, Apple was the leading advertiser on Twitter in the first quarter of this year, spending $48 million on advertisements. In that quarter, 4% of Twitter’s revenue came from Apple advertisements.
Since Musk took over the firm last month, Twitter has lost a number of significant advertisers, including Pfizer, Volkswagen, and Chipotle. Weekly ad bookings for the company are down almost 50%, and revenue in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa is down 15%, according to recent reports from tech newsletter Platformer.
