M1 Pro & Max Thunderbolt Dock Dual Display for Macbook That Works!
Finding a Thunderbolt 3 or 4 Dock that actually works well with a Macbook Pro sporting the new M1 Max or M1 Pro chip has proven to be way more difficult than it should be. After searching high and low all over the internet and finding a lot more info about what did NOT work than anything that did, I finally stumbled upon this amazing dock by intpw. It has everything you would want in a dock and fully supports dual displays with DisplayPort 1.4 – 4K 60Hz HDR on both! So far I’ve had no hiccups through sleeps and wakeups and detaching and reattaching and computer restarts. It has one built in DisplayPort port and then an additional Thunderbolt out that can be used with a Thunderbolt to DP adapter for the second display. This thing also has an ethernet port, a digital optical audio toslink port, 2 USB 2.0 ports, 2 type-c USB 3.1 ports capable of 10Gbps, 1 standard USB 3.1 port capable of 10Gbps, 3 standard USB 3.0 ports capable of 5Gbps, a standard SD Card slot, a micro transflash card slot, and standard 3.5mm Auxiliary Audio out. Besides all that, this dock is actually super affordable, even cheap in comparison to most of the other brands out there (most of which also have issues with the dual display). I was so thrilled to finally find a dock that worked and to have it be priced reasonably was a bonus. This video shows the dock and shows it working with my dual display set up.
