This is the only way to KNOW you’re getting a legit part from Apple. If your iPhone is under 1 year old, absolutely use this option. Apple repairs do tend to run on the expensive side. This is also the reason why you may want to consider getting Apple Care + in the future.

IF you decide the best option is to take your device to a local repair shop, be aware that if they are not Apple Authorized, they are very likely using 3rd party parts. In my experience (based on where I live) this can be a bit of a crapshoot. You never hear about the ones who had success stories, but I have heard plenty of complaints (specifically screens coming off after a few weeks). This may not be a good option for someone with trained eyes. There can be a noticeable difference in screen brightness and clarity. If you decide to go with this option, please print out our PDF.

This is a great option if you want to send your iPhone (or frankly, almost anything made by Apple) to be repaired and don’t care about original parts. On average this saves around $100 in the total cost and I have been recommending these guys for years.
