It supports the Chrome Web Store, but not the Android Play store.
Both Chrome OS and this Chromium OS are based on Linux
All of the Chrome and Chromium OS’s are actually built from SUSE Linux which is actually produced by Novell and is known to be very stable and an excellent OS.
And.. tes this is an upgrade, the Chrome OS is far more than just a web browser. It now has thousands of apps that run offline and feels more like Ubuntu now, which is a good thing.
