Samsung Chromebook 3 11.6-inch HD WLED Intel Celeron 4GB 32GB eMMC Chrome OS Laptop (Charcoal),
Think about a andriod tablet with a keyboard. I like the simplicity of the whole laptop. I can do my reports and send emails no problem, and stream youtube. Super light, i recommend a wireless mouse which easily links up with the laptop.
Good value for the money. I ordered this b/c my sons school went into corona-related virtual learning. They are very G-suite heavy and neither my very old imac, nor my not so old windows machine was enjoying running that software very much.

The machine is dead-simple to setup (as Chromebooks are), fast, light enough for a grade-schooler to move around, and intuitive. The negative is that automatic updates expire in June of 2021, which you dont find out until the box arrives.
The manufacture sticker on the machine indicates it was made in November 2019, so not even half a year ago, and it barely has a year left on updates.
This thing is going to a 1st grader, so ill honestly be happy if it lasts that long, but adult users may want something with a longer life.
This competes among the lower-tier Chromebooks. I purchased it to use as a casual couch computer as well as use TeamViewer to remote into my bigger desktop – which it does fine.
The resolution is different, so that creates some aliasing, but its serviceable. Some initial thoughts were that it seemed snappy enough for such a low powered processor – I think the 4GB of RAM helps a lot.
Though it does hang sometimes in chat programs like hangouts and messenger. Otherwise, Ive had no performance issues. It runs VLC (for Android) fine, even on 1080 media, though I recommend headphones as the speakers are pretty weak.
The screen has been perhaps the biggest disappointment for two reasons: the screen doesnt open past about 135-degrees. Another 5-10 degrees wouldve been a lot more helpful.
I find that the screen that this makes the screen angle awkward sometimes – which brings me to the next issue with the screen. The viewing angle on the screen is much more narrow than Im used to.
It feels like theres a 30-45 degree vertical window of good visibility, otherwise theres significant color and contrast shift. So combined with the limited screen angle, it makes finding a good viewing position difficult sometimes.
Also, I felt that the text on the screen wasnt very clear at standard 100% zoom, but after adjusting the text to 110%, things look much better (albeit at the expense of using up more screen real estate.)
Pros: Pretty quick and generally not laggy Screen brightness is good Good value/$ Cons: Limited screen positions Limited screen viewing angle Tinny speakers
My MacBook Pro which was over 7 years old was having issues and I just didnt want to spend the money getting it repaired or buy a new one. I am retired and mainly use the computer for surfing the web, banking and email.
Have had my Chromebook for 2 months now, and am very happy with it. As mentioned the screen quality is not great, but for the price, $143 with tax, I feel like it was a sensible purchase for my needs.
Was surprised at how easy it was to use. Just enter your Google password and voila! Also like the fact that it is very light weight. Plan on taking it on longer trips instead of my IPad.
Ok I don’t write reviews but I see a lot of trash talk about this little book. Hey for what I need it for its perfect. My kid just started home school due to this virus and having this to use a program called “seesaw” We have had no issues at all.
If you need all the bells and whistles then you need to pay for it
