This video will help you to lock any app on your iPhone in a very easy way.

So that, if someone tries to open that app, your phone will get locked,

and that person can access that particular app, only after unlocking the phone.

Since there is no inbuilt way to do this,

We are going to do this with the help of the shortcuts app on your iPhone.

So to setup the app lock,

We are going to do 2 steps

The first step is to setup the timer settings

So to do that

Go to search bar

And type timer

So we are going to change a setting in this app

So let’s open it

Now here,

Tap on this option

And You will get this popup

Now scroll down

And choose the “stop playing” option here.

And tap set.

So we are successfully done with the first step, which is to set up the timer app.

Next let’s go to the second step

which is to set up the automation, in shortcuts app.

So to do that

Lets go to the search bar

And type shortcuts

So this app will help you to lock the app you want

So let’s open this

Now go to this tab

And click click ‘create automation’

Now Scroll down

And here you can see that there is an option called ‘app’

So Let’s open this

Here click choose

Now choose the app you want to lock

Since i want to lock the ‘photos’ app

I am going to search for ‘photos’

And choose the app

And then tap done.

So once you choose the app.

Click next

And you will get this popup

Now tap on this add button

Now here, search for ‘timer’

And here you can see that

we have an option called ‘start timer’

Now tap on that option

And It will take you to this window

Here we need to setup the time to one second

So tap over here and change it to one second

Now turn off this option

and tap don’t ask

Once you complete this,

tap done

And here you can see that we have successfully created the automation

So we have completed the second and the final step which is to set up the automation

This means we have successfully locked our photos app.

Now to verify that

Let’s open the photos app

So let’s go to our home screen and open the photos app

Here you can see that, when we open the app, after a second, our phone gets locked

This means, a person who doesn’t have the face id or touch id access

cannot access the app you locked.

And If you have the access to face id or touch id,

you can just unlock the phone to use the app.

So we have successfully locked the photos app.

Similarly you can lock any app of your choice with the same steps.

So that’s it for todays video
