The goal is to make users no longer annoyed by the phone ringing. Conversational AI will be the key to finding the answer, providing multi-step call protection.
Although no further details were revealed, the foreign media “9to5google” believes that Google’s possible approach is to introduce the language model LaMDA applied to the Bard AI chatbot, and introduce the calling function of Android. For example, Google already has Call Screen, which can hand over incoming calls to Google Assistant processing, in the future, will be assisted by AI to better filter unwanted calls, and it is expected to be displayed at the I/O Developers Conference in May as soon as possible.
However, this feature may have hardware limitations. Jonathan Eccles said a few days ago that the Clear Calling function of the Pixel 7 series relies on the Tensor 2 chip to achieve it.
