Arm unveiled a new generation of CPU and GPU cores at Computex, bringing more performance to mobile devices. Since both Qualcomm and MediaTek use Arm technology to design mobile phone chips, the announcement of new products will also set the performance of the next generation of Android phones.
The first is the most powerful Cortex-X4 large core. The overall performance will be 15% better than the chip in 2022, and it can save 40% of power consumption simultaneously. The CPU operating clock is expected to reach 3.4GHz. The small CPU cores Cortex-A720 and A520 used as a match have also increased by 22%. In addition, Arm also announced that the new CPU will no longer support 32 bit in the future, and a batch of old apps will be eliminated.
For gaming experience, Arm brings a brand new Immortalis G720 GPU, claiming that the peak performance has reached 15% upgrade, the average performance per watt has increased by 15%, and ray tracing will have better performance.
MediaTek has confirmed that it will release the Dimensity 9300 flagship chip at the end of the year, and will also use Cortex-X4 to bring a new generation of products. It is also expected that Qualcomm Snapdragon will continue to adopt the Arm solution, but it is still unknown what core combination will be used for the design.
