According to the “sumahodigest” report, on July 21, Sony released a new phone certification document code-named “XQ-DE72” in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China. After the published Xperia 1 V and Xperia 10 V, it is the third Sony phone to debut this year, and the relevant specifications cannot be known from the document. If you guess from the code name, this phone is expected to be the successor to the Xperia Pro-I released in 2021.
Looking at Sony’s product model naming in recent years, usually the first of the two English letters after XQ will indicate the year. For example, the 2023 models all start with D. For example, the Taiwan model of Xperia 1 V is XQ-DQ72, Xperia 10 V is XQ-DC72, and the second English letter represents a different series. In view of the fact that the Xperia Pro-I listed model is “XQ-BE72”, it may belong to the same series as the “XQ-DE72” unveiled this time.
However, “sumahodigest” emphasized that judging from the model number is not absolute, because Sony has changed the English letters representing the series many times in the past, so “XQ-DE72” may be Xpeira 5 V.
At present, there is not much information about the new Xperia Pro series. The whistleblower Zackbucks once pointed out that Sony will launch “Xperia Pro-M”. M refers to “Monitor”. As for “sumahodigest”, it was believed that the next-generation Xperia Pro will use the latest Exmor T photosensitive elements in the three main lenses, and it will be equipped with a 1-inch wide-angle lens to greatly increase the amount of light entering.
