What type of Taiwanese movies do you like most? Among the golden lines of classic Chinese films, which ones still impress you so far? LINE TODAY today (7/31) announced the results of an online poll on “Taiwanese Favorite Movies” held between 6/14 and 7/7. According to the survey results, the “comedy films” that Taiwanese people prefer most to jump to the top of the list , followed by brain-burning “suspense reasoning films”, and fascinating “dramatic feature films”.
As for the list of Taiwan’s favorite lines from Taiwanese movies, the famous confession “Stay, or I will go with you” from “Cape No. 7”, which has been released for 15 years and created a box office miracle in Taiwan, topped the list.
In addition, the suspense thriller “Back to School”, which reproduces the white horror period, won the second place with the chilling line: “Have you forgotten, or are you afraid to remember?” In the movie “The Girl We Chased Together in Those Years”, the protagonist Ke Jingteng said to Shen Jiayi in the heavy rain: “I am a fool! Only a fool can chase you for so long”, which is synonymous with youthful love sentences.

In addition, popular blockbusters such as “When a Man is in Love”, which brought Taiwan-style romance, “Sunshine”, which won 5 Golden Horse Awards, and “Want to See You”, which is popular from Taiwan to South Korea, have classic lines in the competition list. A total of more than 13,000 movie fans participated in the voting.

In recent years, Taiwan’s film and television industry has been booming, and there have been many excellent original Taiwanese films. In this regard, LINE TODAY said that since its launch in 2016, it has continued to cooperate with content partners from all walks of life, and is committed to creating a one-stop film and television exchange platform.
This year, in order to demonstrate the power of supporting Chinese films, LINE TODAY has cooperated with the “National Film and Audio-Visual Culture Center” for the first time. During the four-week period from today (from 7/31) to 8/28, it will launch “My Favorite Taiwanese Movies” : Feature Films” voting activity and content curation, calling on the whole people to participate in the voting activity, so as to drive more people to pay attention to and support Taiwanese film works, and review past classic and well-received works.
Participants can vote every day, and can vote for up to 10 works at a time. The final voting results of the public will also become the reference indicators for the core tasks of the National Film and Audiovisual Culture Center, such as film collection, restoration, research, curation, and promotion.
In this voting activity, senior film workers collected 150 non-animation and non-documentary feature films produced in Taiwan between 1950 and 2023, which are divided into 4 major voting themes (the voting links are attached below):
