HMD Global, a new startup in Finland, obtained the ten-year brand authorization for the production and sales of Nokia mobile phones in 2016. In view of the fact that the contract between the two parties will be officially terminated in 2026, HMD Global has also begun to make early arrangements. It has previously announced plans to launch ” HMD” its own brand of smartphone devices, and will work with existing partners including Foxconn, Dixon and Lava to start producing its own brand of “HMD” mobile phone devices in India. It is expected to be launched as soon as It will be released in the first half of 2024.
As for the first HMD smartphone, what will be its specifications and price? HMD Global executives did not disclose any relevant information.
However, earlier, foreign media GSMChina broke the news that two mobile phone models were recently discovered in the GSMA IMEI data database, both of which were submitted by the HMD brand, with model numbers “N159V” and “TA-1585” respectively. However, only two model names are currently known, and the database does not list the technical specifications and configurations of the above two mobile phones in detail. This means that these two mobile phones are model phones in the development stage, which is very likely.
In addition, judging from the naming of the model name, foreign media estimate that “N159V” should be a mobile phone with a new configuration. As for the naming method of another “TA-1585”, it is quite consistent with the internal model used by existing Nokia mobile phones. It is speculated that it may be a model that continues the specifications of old Nokia phones and is temporarily included under the HMD brand.
The above-mentioned rumors have not yet been officially confirmed by HMD Global. However, as next year approaches, there may be relevant revelations in the future.
