Google today (18th) announced the latest image search “Circle to Search” function. When you see the object you want to search on your mobile phone, you just need to draw a circle and frame it, and Google will find it for you immediately! This feature will be available first on the Pixel 8 series and Galaxy S24 series.
The new circle search allows users to call Google Assistant through the shortcut key (press and hold the power button), and then use touch to draw a circle on the screen or cover the object you want to search with wavy lines, and Google can help you search through it. Search pictures by pictures, or ask questions with text to answer your questions.
For example, if you see sunglasses you like on Instagram but don’t know the brand or style name, you can use the circle search function to frame the sunglasses and start searching to find similar styles on the Internet. Or if you see something you want to eat, you can use this function to frame it and enter “Where is it sold nearby?” to instantly satisfy your cravings.
Circle search is expected to be enabled on the Google Pixel 8 series and Samsung Galaxy S24 on January 31, and Google said it will be available for limited flagship phones.
