In response to the EU Digital Market Law, Apple has made a series of major changes to its services. However, what deserves the cheers of players around the world is that Apple has finally agreed to put cloud games on the App Store, such as Microsoft Xbox Cloud Gaming, NVIDIA GeForce NOW, etc. This The policy takes effect globally immediately. In the past, iPhone and iPad users could only play through the browser.

Apple used to require developers to submit an application for each game and put restrictions on cloud games. Now it breaks the old rules and developers can now submit a single application that contains multiple games. However, when Microsoft Xbox Cloud Gaming, NVIDIA GeForce NOW, etc. will be launched on the App Store, it still depends on the game platform.

It is understood that due to the age rating policy of the App Store, most of the popular games provided by Microsoft Xbox Cloud Gaming, NVIDIA GeForce NOW, etc. are ESRB M-rated. If the application is listed on the App Store, it may be restricted for use only by those over 17 years old.

In addition, important changes announced by Apple include opening third-party app stores and sideloading in iOS, relaxing restrictions on the Safari browser, and opening the iPhone NFC function. These adjustments are all in order to comply with the EU DMA Digital Market Act, so they are only applicable to EU countries. It is expected to be launched in iOS 17.4 released in March, and the beta version is currently online.
