Apple has not launched any iPad tablets in the past year, which seems to have given the Android camp an opportunity! According to statistics from Taiwan chain Jiesheng Communications, store tablet sales data for the first quarter of 2024, it is found that the iPad is no longer the only one, and there are many Android tablets emerging.
Jiesheng Communications pointed out that Apple’s iPad no longer has the dividends, and for the first time, it occupies less seats in the top ten than the Android camp. Currently, only 4 models are still on the list, namely the first-place iPad 10 (64GB), the third-place iPad 9 (64G), the fourth-place iPad Air 5 (64G) and the eighth-place iPad Air 5 ( 256G).
Android wins by price. For example, OPPO Pad Air WiFi (64G) rushed to the second place in one fell swoop. Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ WiFi also locked in the fifth and sixth places with two capacities of 128 and 64GB, and the prices are only 5,000-5,000. At 7,000 yuan, it is more affordable than the iPad and is sufficient for light entertainment and learning assistance.

Jiesheng Communications analyzed that the overall sales of tablets have not improved, mainly because manufacturers are more focused on how to accelerate inventory removal before new machines are launched. In addition, consumers are generally more cautious about spending due to the economic environment. Therefore, the price of high-end tablets has increased. In the Taiwan market, the purchasing sentiment is not as good as before. In the top ten, only iPad Air and Galaxy Tab S9 FE WiFi are priced more than NT$10,000. Perhaps due to the widespread news about the launch of new models, no model of the high-end iPad Pro is included in the list this time.
