In this video I test the newly released Parallels for Mac technical preview running an ARM based version of Windows 10. Using Geekbench 5, I benchmark Parallels using both 4 core and 8 core settings.
I am pretty blown away with the results – with the M1 Mac running on technical and beta versions of software, it performs either almost as good or better than almost ALL the equivalent Intel processors currently available on the market. It’s single core performance rivals that of the newly released AMD Ryzen 5000 series CPUs too. This is a pretty impressive performance considering just 48 hours ago, you couldn’t run anything Windows related on this machine unless using some kind of Wine virtualization that is technically unsupported by Apple silicon.
