According to a new report from China Mobile Terminal Laboratory, the replacement cycle of old smartphones has been extended again. However, it is worth noting that the upgrade cycles of various popular brands are different.

In this regard, Apple’s upgrade cycle is the most stable and highest, with an average of about 27.1 months. At the same time, Xiaomi users have the most frequent upgrade frequency, with an upgrade cycle of only 22.8 months.

For other brands, the cycle of Honor is 26.4 months, OPPO is 26.3 months, Huawei is 25.6 months, vivo is 25.5 months, and Samsung is 24.5 months. The report added that one of the main reasons for this increase is due to the continuous improvement of smartphone technology over time.

In other words, each device now provides a better experience than the models sold in the past, leading users to be satisfied with the current device for a longer period of time. Another interesting finding is that the upgrade cycle for both high-end and low-end mobile phones is relatively long, exceeding 26 months. On the other hand, the mid-range and high-end market segments have much shorter cycles, only about 21 months on average.
