SpaceX Starship Update: SpaceX Plans to Drill for Methane Gas near Boca Chica for Raptor Engines

SpaceX is planning to use methane, which will be extracted from the ground “in connection with their rocket facility operations.” Initially, SpaceX uses super-chilled liquid methane and liquid oxygen as fuel for its Raptor engines. Those Raptor engines will power SpaceX’s future starship vehicles. The company’s Starship prototypes and Super Heavy vehicles are tested at Boca Chica, and orbital launches are planned for the site.
