Apple Watch Series 3 not activating? Stuck at the ‘updating software screen’ in the Watch App? I picked up a series 3 LTE for my wife this week and couldn’t get it to activate. So guys, you’ll need an older device running iOS 11 with the older Watch app to get your device to activate. The issue is, after it’s activated and linked to your account, on iOS 12/13 it still doesn’t give you the option to actually update your Apple Watch. This appears to be an iOS error, not a carrier problem.
