Should you buy a laptop with the Intel Core i5-9300H or AMD Ryzen 7 3750H CPU? I’ve compared both processors in 15 different games at all setting levels, as well as a number of applications such as video exporting, 3D rendering and more to help you decide which is worth it in your next laptop.

Games Tested:
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Apex Legends
Battlefield V
Borderlands 3
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
Control
CS:GO
Dota 2
Fortnite
Ghost Recon – Breakpoint

Rainbow Six Siege
Red Dead Redemption 2
Shadow of the Tomb Raider
The Witcher 3

Applications Tested:
Adobe Premiere CC 2020
Adobe Photoshop 2020
Blender
Cinebench R15
Cinebench R20
7-Zip 19.00 (compression/decompression)
VeraCrypt 1.23 (AES encryption/decryption)
Handbrake 1.2.2 (transcode 4K to 1080p, and 1080p to 720p)
Geekbench 4.3.4

Note: The Lenovo Y7000 with i5-9300H was tested with balanced mode to limit it to 45W when in games with the dGPU active, and hybrid mode was enabled as the ASUS TUF FX505DU laptop uses the iGPU in graphical workloads too.
