End the digging screen! OPPO’s next-generation under-screen camera technology is about to debut

According to news on August 2, OPPO China President Liu Bo revealed on Weibo that OPPO’s next-generation under-screen camera technology has taken shape. Liu Bo asked netizens: “For this technology, do you value the screen display or the selfie effect?”

For adults, the under-screen camera technology is the perfect solution to make the front camera completely invisible without reducing the self-portrait effect. This is also the direction that manufacturers are working hard on.

Previously, OPPO had demonstrated the under-screen camera technology at Shanghai MWC in 2019. In order to end the form of hole-digging screen, OPPO has gone through difficult research.

At that time, OPPO’s under-screen camera technology overcomes three major problems. First, OPPO customized camera modules to capture more light.

Second, OPPO customized a “transparent material” with higher light transmittance in the camera area under the screen, and redesigned the pixel structure in this area to optimize the light transmittance of the screen so that light can pass through the screen more fully.

The third is that OPPO has specifically adjusted the white balance algorithm in a targeted manner, which can adapt to different light sources and calibrate the color of the picture to achieve a more authentic photo effect.

After a lapse of 2 years, I believe that OPPO’s under-screen camera technology has undergone many iterations internally, and mass production and commercial use should not be far away.
