Apple Music HiFi is Coming!
Apple Music HiFi will come at not extra cost to Apple One subscribers
Still no solid word in potential price increases to standard Apple Music subscribers.
Apple Music HiFi will be optional for users in a standard settings menus for Apple Music. Apple will allow you to enable it for all songs if they can find a higher quality version
Apple will work to convert standard high resolution audio files to ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec) files for use with Apple Music.
Apple Music will gain support for high resolution ALAC files.
Users who import their own ALAC music will have the option to choose audio bitrates.
Standard AirPods will not receive support for high resolution audio of this size through Bluetooth, though I’m told that AirPods Pro and Max will possibly be getting firmware updates to enable ALAC playback at full quality.
And for those bound to ask: No AirPods 3 at WWDC and no they won’t be coming until later this year at best. WWDC isn’t the time for that even with Apple Music HiFi
