Apple is expected to launch a new generation of Apple Watch Series 7 this year, and the production schedule will be blocked, which may affect the subsequent time to market. According to the latest report of the “Nikkei Asian Review”, a source at the supply chain side revealed that due to Apple’s major renovation of the internal design of the new Apple Watch Series 7, in addition to the slightly upgraded screen size, blood pressure detection has also been added. Other new health functions, coupled with the need to meet the requirements of waterproof performance, have to pack more parts into the limited table space for installation, making assembly and production technology more difficult, and at the same time facing greater challenges.
It is reported that around mid-to-late August, small-scale mass production of Apple Watch Series 7 has been launched on the supply chain, but the production yield has not yet reached a satisfactory index. According to Apple’s original schedule for mass production in mid-September, if the production technology cannot be overcome in a short period of time, it is likely that the publication and listing will be delayed.
So far, Apple has not issued an invitation letter for new product events, nor has it disclosed any related news about Apple Watch Series 7. There is still no way to know when Apple Watch Series 7 will be released and shipped. According to reports from multiple foreign media, in order to ensure production quality and yield, it is expected that Apple will probably postpone the release of the new smartwatch or adopt the practice of lowering the production volume.
