Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G | Fan Edition 3 Months Later

Reviewing the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G ‘Fan Edition’ smartphone in 2021, three months after I first unboxed it. While the fresh Galaxy S21 flagship is currently in the spotlight, I still prefer the Samsung S20 FE in many ways. In the UK it’s cheaper, you get better battery life thanks to the Snapdragon vs Exynos smarts, and I love the colour options. While the camera isn’t quite as feature packed, you still get a great experience for photo and video capture. Plus the One UI features are almost identical.

Check out my S21 review for all you need to know about that bad boy. It certainly feels far too close to the Fan Edition alternative, lacking the premium features of that Ultra model.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G rocks one of the best phone cameras of 2021, hands down. If you’re shooting your family a lot (in the non-homicidal sense of the word), you really can’t go wrong. No, there’s no 8K, but you’ve got that Single Take mode for capturing photos and video simultaneously anyway. And the performance here is just as good for gaming on the likes of PubG, Genshin Impact etc.

Battery life is solid, so you’ll make it through even the toughest of days intact. And this is one of the best budget phone choices around for Android updates. It’s still old Android 10 right now annoyingly but you’ve got two guaranteed OS upgrades and security patches for three years.
