Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 – Ready To Be Your Daily Driver?

Our hands are finally on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. With just a few days away from its official launch here in Canada, the question is, did Samsung improve upon this flagship foldable enough to make it your daily driver?

The first two Samsung Galaxy Z Fold devices were met with early controversy as the Korean tech struggled with quality issues. The first revision had screen delamination which was addressed in the Z Fold 2. It had much-improved build quality and a better screen protector, but dust and water were a concern. Plus, the hinge’s longevity and the extensive warnings and cautions in the package didn’t put many people at ease. Especially when spending nearly double to triple the amount that a well-equipped conventional smartphone would covet.

Yet, somehow, in the third incarnation, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 seems to have gotten a lot right. For starters, it’s got the flagship specifications with the top-end Qualcomm 888 5G chipset, it’s even slimmer than the previous generation, and somehow, they’ve made it water-resistant with an IPX8 rating. That means you can dunk it for 30 minutes in 1.5 metres of water, by accident, of course.

Stylus support returns to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 though no stylus is in the box. Samsung will be happy to sell you one of three that slips nicely into a case that is also sold separately. Speaking of things, not in the box, the time has come to say goodbye to the charging brick. But the charging cable is still there.

What do you think? Is the third time the winner? Will you be getting a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 for your next flagship device? Let us know in the comments below!
