Today, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology released an analysis report on the operation of the domestic mobile phone market in 2021. The report shows that in the whole year of 2021, the total shipments of mobile phones in the domestic market totaled 351 million units, a year-on-year increase of 13.9%.
In the whole year of 2021, domestic brand mobile phone shipments totaled 304 million units, a year-on-year increase of 12.6%, accounting for 86.6% of mobile phone shipments in the same period. That is to say, for every 100 people, nearly 87 people buy domestic mobile phones.
At the same time, a total of 438 new models were launched, a year-on-year increase of 6.3%, accounting for 90.7% of the number of new mobile phone models listed in the same period.
5G mobile phones have become the general trend. In the whole year of 2021, 5G mobile phone shipments will be 266 million units, a year-on-year increase of 63.5%, accounting for 75.9% of mobile phone shipments in the same period. In November and December 2021, 5G mobile phones accounted for more than 80%.
Not all mobile phones are smartphones. For the whole year of 2021, smartphone shipments will be 343 million units, a year-on-year increase of 15.9%, accounting for 97.7% of mobile phone shipments in the same period. 82.1% of the new models listed.
In the whole year of 2021, a total of 404 new models of smartphones were launched, an increase of 11.0% year-on-year, accounting for 83.6% of the number of new models launched in the same period. It can be seen that feature phones still have a huge audience.
