As the first orbital launch is postponed, SpaceX finally finds a way to work with the Federal Aviation Administration. SpaceX’s Starship Mars rocket’s first orbital launch has been delayed for at least another month. SpaceX plans to launch that historic test mission soon after the FAA completes an environmental evaluation of Starbase, the company’s South Texas facility where it develops, tests, and launches Starship rockets. What steps did SpaceX take to address the FAA’s policy? Let’s see what we can find out!

The FAA requires more time to complete an environmental study of SpaceX Starship orbital missions from its Boca Chica, Texas, facility. It has postponed the release of an environmental study of SpaceX’s Starship/Super Heavy launch vehicle, which is being developed with the goal of one day launching from South Texas to Mars.

The FAA just declared that the project’s final Programmatic Environmental Assessment (PEA) — and how it is affecting the ecosystem around Boca Chica Beach — will not be disclosed until March 28.
