How To Fix iPhone X , 7/7+, 6/6+, 5/5s/SE Overheating Issues

In this video, a former Apple tech explains why your iPhone gets hot and shows you how to fix the problem for good. Your iPhone gets hot because its CPU is running at 100% for a prolonged period of time. Most of the time, this is the result of a software problem.

If your iPhone is getting hot, begin by closing out of your apps. To do this, double-click the Home button and swipe the apps up and off the screen in the app switcher.

Next, check for app updates and iOS updates. Software updates often include patches to glitchy software that may be causing your apps to crash, malfunction, and make your iPhone get hot.

If your apps donโ€™t seem to be the reason why your iPhone gets hot, trying resetting all settings. Doing this will target corrupted software files that could be overheating your iPhone. This wonโ€™t delete any of the data on your iPhone, but it will erase all of your settings.
