At CES 2022, AMD was amongst one of large tech companies which held a keynote to show off exciting new products that they’ll be bringing to market later in the year or in the future. One such product was the Ryzen 7 5800X3D which utilizes AMD’s 3D vCache stacking technology. Allowing amd to triple the amount of cache available on the single Zen 3 CCD. This new tech results in a performance uplift in many modern games, allows AMD to be competitive against Intel’s latest Alder Lake CPUs. However there is a lot of missed opportunity with this product and makes it a bizarre one since its not really clear on who its exactly for.
