Hello there in todays video I will be showing you how to install twrp and root the Asus Rog phone 2, should work with all editions.
This guide is sort of a follow up from my original rooting guide so here to keep the video shorter and prevent duplicate content I dont show you how to download the adb tools for that take a look here

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY AND MAY BRICK YOUR PHONE.
ALSO MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW THIS GUIDE TO THE BONE AS MISSING STEPS MIGHT MESS UP YOUR PHONE SO BAD THAT IT’S MAMA WONT RECOGNISE IT.

Time stamps:
up to 04:32 we restore the original boot image. you can skip up to here if you did not root your phone before hand.
PLEASE NOTE at this stage make sure your bootloader is unlocked and you have the magisk manager apk installed, downloaded and exctracted the “fastboot and adb tools” above. now you should be good to go.
Make sure you have no lock screen password/pin/pattern or fingerprint set.

They also have some links to install android 10 on this phone, Im going to wait for an official release so I wont be doing a guide to upgrade to android 10
Here are some commands I used in the video might be quicker to copy then to type:
These are for restoring stock boot
.adb.exe devices
.adb.exe reboot bootloader
.fastboot devices
.fastboot flash boot .boot.img
.fastboot.exe reboot bootloader
.fastboot flash boot .boot.img
.fastboot reboot
These next ones are for installing twrp
.adb.exe reboot bootloader
.fastboot boot twrp.img
goto advanced – adb sideload – swipe the yoke
check if phone present with
.adb.exe devices
.adb.exe sideload twrp.zip
click reboot system at the bottom
after reboot
.adb.exe reboot recovery
goto advanced then install root and swipe then reboot system
