Today we’re looking the first 10 things you should do if you’ve just got your new iPhone 14 or 14 Pro or any iPhone that runs the latest iOS16! These tips and tricks will help you get the most out of your iPhone’s features, battery life and performance! Customise your lock screen. iOS16 bring awesome new customisation to the lock screen. Right away you can see this new look. Press and hold onto lock screen. Slide menu to easily switch between different setups. Kind of like changing watch faces on Apple Watch. Press + to create new. Features, suggested photos, weather etc. Globe, shows real location. Tap on time to change font and colour. Change info above – I set date. Add widgets – calendar, weather, reminders, clocks. I use activity and temperate. Pro tip: widgets useful to have but use sparingly, run constantly and use battery! Activate new safety features. Settings emergency SOS – turn on crash detection. Can turn on call with 5 presses – can do in pocket. Add this to FaceID. On the topic of security add this to faceID. Allow FaceID with mask. Add alternative appearance for glasses, makeup for different hairstyles. Turn on require attention and attention aware features for extra security. “Allow access when locked” turn most off. Turn on erase data. Optimise display settings. Light/dark mode – use scheduled best of both. Use true tone but not for editing. May want to use night shift at nigh, limits blue light, again don’t use when editing. Auto lock 3 mins or less, security, battery and burn-in. Raise to wake on, I like, but can turn off for battery. Save battery by limiting number of notifications and background app refresh. How to customise the control centre. Why use and how to setup focus modes. Find new action mode in camera and best way to use. Finally, use iCloud to backup, trust me it’s worth it!
