This afternoon, Lei Jun, the founder of Xiaomi, shared the photos taken by Xiaomi employees, and the Xiaomi Technology Park suddenly became full of virtue.
These samples were taken by Xiaomi Mi 12S Ultra with Leica filters. It is reported that the new phone has four built-in filters, namely Leica Vivid, Leica Natural, Leica Monochrome, and Leica Monochrome HC. Xiaomi has perfectly transplanted the four filters from the Leica Camera M11 to the phone.
Not only that, Xiaomi Mi 12S Ultra is equipped with Leica professional optical lens, 8P lens, and double-sided ultra-low-reflection coating on the entire lens, which can be inked on the edge of each lens. Using a new type of cycloolefin material, the reflectivity is as low as 0.2% and the light transmittance is as high as 93%, which can reduce glare and eliminate purple fringing.
Overall, the Xiaomi Mi 12S series has made great efforts in the imaging system this time, not only with the brand logo, but also in-depth cooperation with Leica to carry out full-link cooperation on software and hardware.
Lei Jun once said that the cooperation between Xiaomi and Leica covers the whole link of smartphone imaging including optics, imaging, image processing, experience, etc. This is a comprehensive integration of the imaging capabilities of both parties. In order to achieve our common goal, in addition to the cooperation between China and Germany, Leica also specially sent a team of engineers to Beijing to work side by side with Xiaomi engineers.
More importantly, the Xiaomi Mi 12S Ultra is also equipped with a Sony IMX989 1-inch super outsole sensor. Lei Jun pointed out that the Sony IMX989 was jointly developed by Xiaomi and Sony, and the Xiaomi engineer team participated in the specification definition and part of the design and verification of the IMX989.
Compared with the iPhone 13 Pro Max, the Sony IMX989 has a 72% increase in the photosensitive area, a 76% increase in the photosensitive capacity, a 32.5% increase in the camera speed, and an 11% increase in the startup speed. Lei Jun emphasized that the Xiaomi Mi 12S Ultra is the ceiling of the mobile phone camera.
