ColorOS 12 Review | Oppo's Best New Features

Reviewing Oppo’s ColorOS 12 launcher, built on top of Android 12, with a guide to the best new features and tools. The beta release rollout is happening right now, with over 100 Oppo smartphones set to get ColorOS 12 by Summer 2022. So while you’re waiting, here’s a look at the changes and some of my favourite updates.

That UI hasn’t changed up a massive amount, although you now have some Android 12 features such as colour palettes based on your wallpaper. Customisation options have been updated in the form of fresh Always On Display selections, plus other tweaks. Accessibility has also been improved for colour blind users, while the language support has been boosted.

Some of Oppo’s latest ColorOS 12 features haven’t actually been shoved into this initial beta, such as Omojis and the PC Launcher tool. However, these should be coming in early 2022.

Other changes and updates include fresh privacy options, some coming straight from Android 12. For instance, you can toggle the camera and mic access off for all apps. You also get updated battery tools and a performance upgrade (hard to test on the Find X3 Pro).

That’s my thoughts and best features of ColorOS 12, but what do you guys reckon? Looking forward to the rollout hitting your Oppo blower?
