Bloomberg reports that Apple was trying to pull out Google’s search director Ben Gomez. Apple has pulled out Gomez’s predecessor, John Giannandrea.

Ben Gomez, who Apple was trying to pull out of Google, was a veteran engineer who joined Google in 1999 and has played a central role in search system development since its dawn.
Gomez will replace John Giannandrea, who joined Apple from Google in 2018 and became a senior executive in charge of machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) strategy, until 2020, and is currently head of the search department. Is the senior vice president of education.
