Report confirms iPhone 14 Pro will feature 48-megapixel lens

For a long time, no matter how the iPhone is updated and iterated, its camera has always been 12 million pixels. However, there is now news that the iPhone 14 Pro may be equipped with a 48-megapixel camera, which will significantly improve the photography capabilities of the phone.

Report confirms iPhone 14 Pro will feature 48-megapixel lens

The prediction that the iPhone 14 series will be equipped with a 48-megapixel camera is not new. As early as the end of December last year, Tianfeng International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that the iPhone 14 series may be equipped with a 48-megapixel camera. But TrendForce confirmed the speculation in a Wednesday report. The analyst firm said the move would bring the market share of devices with a 12-megapixel main camera down to 15 percent.

From 12 megapixels to 48 megapixels, this is the first time since the iPhone 6s that Apple has made such a “radical” increase in pixels. Prior to this, the iPhone 6s was upgraded from 8 million pixels to 12 million pixels.

Previously, Ming-Chi Kuo pointed out that the larger sensor could provide the iPhone with a hybrid operating mode and support for 8K video recording. It’s worth mentioning that this doesn’t mean that photos taken with the iPhone are all 48-megapixels, the device may deliver 48-megapixel images for bright subjects and 12-megapixel images for low-light photos.

In addition to the upgraded camera, the “iPhone 14 Pro” is also expected to feature a new front design, possibly with a hole-punch screen design. Other sources say that the camera bump on the iPhone 14 series may also be reduced.
