Leaker reported that MediaTek was confirmed to be developing the Dimensity 10000, the successor to the Dimensity 9000.
Will it be announced by the end of 2022?
Leaker Equal Leaks told Telegram that MediaTek is developing chips manufactured on TSMC’s 3nm process and could be announced as Dimensity 10000 by the end of 2022.
He states that TSMC’s 3nm process has 1.7x higher transistor density and 11% better processing performance than the 5nm process. Also, with the same processing performance, it seems possible to reduce power consumption by 25% to 30%.
Rumors that Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will also be manufactured by TSMC
Notebookcheck notes that the Dimensity 10000 is likely to compete with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 when it comes out.
It is rumored that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will be manufactured by changing to the TSMC 4nm process instead of the Samsung 4nm process used to manufacture the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
