Presto within Apple exposure: 6 iPhones can be upgraded to iOS over the air at one time

According to the latest reports, Apple will widely launch a new system called “Presto within Apple” in its Apple Store next month. The system allows Apple Store employees to update the iPhone’s software while it’s still in the box.

Reports from iGeneration have obtained a photo of what they claim is a Presto system, noting that it will also be available outside the United States. According to new reports, the Presto system resembles a “small two-outlet cabinet” and is similar in some ways to a “toaster.” It can hold up to six iPhones at the same time and has built-in guardrails to secure iPhone cases of different sizes.

The photo shows two separate Presto systems stacked together. The report pointed out that it took Apple Store employees about 20 seconds to “place the box in the designated location.” Afterwards, the iOS update will install in 15 to 30 minutes. At this time, the iPhone is still sealed in the box. The system is said to use a combination of MagSafe and other wireless technologies.

The “Presto within Apple” system will allow people who buy iPhones from the Apple Store to get the latest version of iOS. Traditionally, iPhones ship with the iOS version available from the factory, which means that by the time millions of iPhones reach consumers, their iOS versions are several updates behind.
