News: BOE becomes Apple’s iPhone SE 4 screen supplier

The iPhone SE 4 is expected to be launched in 2025, equipped with the same 6.1-inch OLED display as the iPhone 13/14 standard version, and shipments are expected to reach 15 million units.

Previously, three companies, BOE, Samsung Display and Tianma, were competing for the right to supply screens for the iPhone SE 4. According to ZDNet Korea, Samsung Display failed to reach an agreement due to price issues. It is reported that Apple’s price is only US$25 (approximately RMB 181), while Samsung’s original offer was US$30. Although it is lower than the two Chinese manufacturers, there is a gap with Apple’s expectations.

According to sources, Samsung Display had little interest in supplying iPhone SE 4 screens from the beginning due to price differences. At the same time, Apple also hopes to reduce its dependence on Samsung Display in the iPhone supply chain.

In addition, another competitor Tianma has shown a strong willingness to join the iPhone SE 4 supply chain, but its product quality has not yet met Apple’s requirements.
