According to Wccftech, a recent report stated that Apple plans to equip new Mac workstation products with M4 Ultra chips, and at least one of the models will be launched in mid-2025. Since there is only a little more than a year left, it is rumored that Apple will focus on optimizing artificial intelligence (AI) workloads on the M4 series of chips, leading more people to speculate that Apple may choose to skip the M3 Ultra and instead The focus is on next-generation chips.
The M4 Ultra is codenamed Hidra and will be used in the new Mac Studio and Mac Pro. The new Mac Studio is more likely to be released before the new Mac Pro, and will also provide a version equipped with M4 Max, while the new Mac Pro will probably wait until the second half of 2025.
As for the M3 Ultra, there are still many questions. Some industry analysts said that Apple will release this chip at the end of 2024, which means that it is very close to the rumored release time of the M4. Some market research institutions also pointed out that the M3 Ultra will arrive in the middle of this year.
