April 22 is Earth Day. In order to welcome it, Apple has updated the Trade In exchange and “free recycling” activity page on its official website, with the slogan “Good for you, good for the earth.”
Apple wrote on the page:
“This Earth Day, make the best use of the old equipment in your hands. You can trade it in and enjoy trade-in discounts. If the equipment does not meet the trade-in conditions, we will also help you recycle it for free.
We will help you recycle all kinds of Apple devices, cables, protective cases, accessories and other similar electronic products for free. You will contribute to protecting the earth’s precious resources and reducing waste, and work with us to create a better future for the earth. “
Apple’s official UK account also shared a video about “Recycling Robots”, saying that Apple’s recycling robots are now able to recover recyclable materials from 23 different iPhone models.
Apple’s description of the video is as follows:
“Our custom recycling robot, Daisy, can dismantle 23 different iPhone models to recover critical materials such as gold and rare earth elements.
Dave the robot extracts the tungsten via a haptic engine, while Taz the robot recycles the audio module. Together they are leading the way in recycling recycled materials for the next generation of products. “
