According to the latest report released by screen supply chain consulting company DSCC, OLED screen smartphone shipments in the second half of 2023 will increase by 41% compared with the first half of the year, resulting in a year-on-year increase of 12% in OLED smartphone shipments.

The report shows that in 2023, Apple iPhone will continue to lead with 36% of OLED mobile phone shipments and 56% of revenue.

David Naranjo, senior director of DSCC, said: “We estimate that the average selling price of OLED panels will further decline in 2024 as brand owners will seek lower-cost suppliers, which can increase the price of flagship products. sales and revenue”.

DSCC also expects OLED smartphone revenue to grow by 11% overall in 2024. Among them, the revenue of rigid OLED screen smartphones is expected to increase by 17%, the revenue of flexible OLED screen mobile phones will increase by 9%, and the revenue of folding OLED screen mobile phones will also achieve 9% growth.

In terms of brands, although Apple will maintain its leading position with 36% of OLED mobile phone shipments and 56% of OLED mobile phone revenue in 2023, its market share has declined slightly compared to 2022. The change reflects rapid growth and intensifying market competition from Honor, Huawei, vivo and other brands.

Looking at specific models, DSCC predicts that the top five models in terms of shipments in the first quarter of 2024 will include Samsung Galaxy A15, Apple iPhone 15, Samsung Galaxy A35, iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 14. These five models are expected to account for 28% of the market share.
