Third-party application store AltStore PAL is launched, inviting European iPhone users to experience it

IT House reported on April 18 that developer Riley Testut recently issued an announcement announcing the launch of AltStore PAL for EU member states and inviting local iPhone users to experience this third-party application mall.

AltStore PAL is an open source application designed to publish applications from independent developers. At the beginning of its launch, the mall had two applications, namely Testut’s Delta game emulator and the clipboard manager application Clip.

In Europe, the Delta game emulator is distributed through the AltStore PAL third-party application store, and in other markets outside the EU, it is currently available on the App Store.

Testut said that if the AltStore PAL operates smoothly, third-party app developers can submit their apps for release outside of the App Store.

The app market is designed to be decentralized and have no directory, so developers need to self-promote their apps and direct users to their websites to install apps through the AltStore.

Publishing apps through AltStore is free, but it’s worth noting that apps that exceed 1 million annual installs for the first time will pay Apple a core technology fee of €0.50 for each new download.

To cover this cost, Testut announced that access to the AltStore PAL mall will cost €1.50 per year.
