Google has announced that it has added three new features to Google Maps. It includes “transportation congestion” that helps you to stay safe even in the pandemic of the new coronavirus.

Real-time display of bus, train, and subway congestion

Congestion status data now shows real-time public transport congestion during route guidance. The data relies on feedback from users within the app and will be collected at a crowd source. Previously, it was possible to grasp only the congestion status of each station on Google Maps, but the scope of application has expanded to buses, trains, and subways.

It’s customary to avoid the crowds during the holiday season, but this year it’s even easier for you. At the time of transfer guidance, Google Maps provides real-time congestion status, making it easier to maintain social distance. Bus, train, and subway congestion is now available worldwide on Android and iOS, based on real-time feedback from Google Maps users.

COVID-19 Information layer also strengthened

In September of this year, the new Coronavirus Infection (COVID-19) layer was introduced on Google Maps, and it is now possible to see in which areas the infection is common. This feature has been further updated to show the total number of infected and fatalities by area, along with regional data.

Finally, food delivery status has been introduced in the United States, Canada, Germany, Australia, Brazil and India. You can browse the waiting time and delivery cost.
